Reviews from 1999, 2004, and 2023 consistently support these mechanisms, with animal model data showing protective effects against endotoxemia, organ injury, and immune overactivation, and the 2023 review further noting potential benefits for insulin response and metabolic inflammation. Studies also point to glycine-derived lipid molecules such as arachidonoyl glycine as playing a nuanced role in neuroinflammation, suggesting glycine's anti-inflammatory influence may extend beyond direct supplementation.
