Avocado for Skin Health

Insufficient evidence 2 studies

The two available studies linked to avocado and skin health do not actually investigate skin health outcomes. One study examines genetic regulatory mechanisms in human T cells related to autoimmune disease, and the other evaluates fatty alcohols and acetates derived from avocados as potential antiparasitic compounds in laboratory and worm models. While the antiparasitic study does explore bioactive compounds found in avocados, neither study addresses topical or dietary avocado use for skin health in any meaningful way. As a result, the currently linked research does not provide a basis for drawing conclusions about avocado's effects on skin health, and readers interested in this topic should look to studies specifically designed to examine that question.
