Agaricus Blazei for Liver Health

Insufficient evidence 2 studies

Research suggests that Agaricus blazei Murill extract may support liver health, though the available evidence remains quite limited. A small open-label pilot trial in four patients with chronic hepatitis B reported notable reductions in liver enzyme markers associated with inflammation and damage over a 12-month period, while a separate animal study found that ABM extract reduced liver and spleen enlargement in a mouse leukemia model, potentially through immune-modulating effects. The evidence base consists of only two studies — one very small human trial with no control group and one animal study — which means findings cannot be reliably generalized or considered conclusive. Larger, well-controlled human trials are needed before any firm conclusions about the effects of Agaricus blazei on liver health can be drawn.
